Youth Fellowship (YF) is our Sunday night youth group. It’s for anyone in secondary school (S1 – S6) and it’s a time for young people to learn about and discuss the Bible and how to apply it to their everyday lives. The ‘Prayer for the Nations’ group meet on Monday afternoons at 3pm on Zoom, lifting various nations or regions up to God. The group prays for specific issues that are happening in the world and for our Christian brothers and sisters in other countries and various ministries abroad. Tuesdays at Ten runs in Seagate Church between September to May. It is especially designed for the over 50s and provides two hours of conversation, recreation and stimulation, helping to care for physical and spiritual wellbeing. This club meets fortnightly in Seagate Church on Wednesday afternoons from 2:30pm-4:30pm. As well as playing chess, this is also a place to chat and develop friendships. For more information, please speak to Paul or Judy.
The 7-week CAP Life Skills course is designed to help build confidence and decision-making skills needed to live well on a low income. Attendees learn practical money saving techniques, such as cooking wholesome meals on a budget and making money go further. The sessions happen in a relaxed group environment, with a mixture of practical activities and informal discussions.
This group go exploring in Fullarton Woods with a different focus each time. They meet on specified Saturday mornings at 10am in the car park at Fullarton Woods. For more information on forest schools, please speak to Elizabeth.
A team of volunteers from Seagate Church and St Meddans Parish Church join together once a fortnight to lead a short Sunday service at a local care home. This is an initiative from Troon Churches Together. The residents who regularly join us are from different Christian denominations and church backgrounds. Being conscious of this, we try to use a mixture of traditional hymns and more modern choruses so each person can worship in a way in which they feel closest to God. We share a short bible reading, a mini sermon and always include prayers throughout the service. It is encouraging to see the same smiling faces return each time we visit, to hear them singing with all their hearts and to see how much we mean to them. On Friday evenings during term time, girls in S1-S6 meet in Seagate Church at 7:30pm for a group called ‘Friday Faith Gang.’ It was started several years ago as a way of discipling girls who felt they would benefit from a more in-depth study of the Bible in a smaller and quieter setting. During the darker, colder months, Cosy Cafe runs on Wednesdays from 4:30pm-7:30pm at Cafe 141. This provides a space where people from our community can have a hot 2 course dinner with hot drinks. It provides an opportunity to socialise, play games and receive signposting to services within Ayrshire. The food is prepared by the Cafe 141 staff and Cosy Cafe is manned by staff members and volunteers from Seagate. For more information, please contact Judy.
mainly music is a Christian preschool ministry based in Australia, with groups running in various churches by subscription around the world. Seagate Church have been running mainly music since August 2016. Sessions run on Thursday mornings during term time and consist of a 30-minute music and movement session, with designed educational benefits, followed by a snack time for the kids. Then there’s a time of Eat/Play/Chat where the team play alongside the children with various toys, leaving the adults to enjoy home baking and tea/coffee whilst chatting with each other and building good friendships and support networks. Special occasions such as birthdays, Easter, Christmas, Mothers & Fathers Days are celebrated as part of the mainly music curriculum. Throughout the session, children develop gross and fine motor skills, language, imagination, maths and pre-reading skills as well as socialise with others. Each mainly music session is run by volunteers and includes some well-known songs and rhymes, as well as mainly music originals – some of which give families a chance to think about the God-part of life.

A monthly men’s prayer breakfast is held on the last Saturday of the month from 8am to 9:30am in the back hall at Seagate Church. Coffee, tea and a breakfast roll are provided. This is an opportunity for men to get together to support one another, to grow deeper in relationship with Jesus and to “spur one another on”. For more information, please speak to Mark.
This course represents a vital step in our mission to bring healing and restoration to broken lives. It’s grounded in biblical principles, using craft, discussion and friendships to reinforce and explore the truth of God’s word. It offers a pathway to wholeness for those grappling with past hurts and struggles. Through art, sewing, decoupage, journalling, reflection, and group support, participants are empowered to embrace forgiveness, find inner peace, and discover their worth in Christ. We aim to run this course twice a year with the potential of a follow up small group focussed on bible journalling. For more information, please speak to Judy or Elizabeth.
As part of the Scripture Union Scotland Pray for Schools initiative, we have a group of church members and other dedicated friends, who meet regularly to pray for our local schools, pupils, staff, chaplains and all things school related. This group was formed in September 2006 and meet during term time. For more information, please speak to Elizabeth.
We work in partnership with South Ayrshire Foodbank to provide emergency food and support to local people in crisis. We also signpost to support agencies within our locality. We welcome food donations and collect these in our church foyer.
We host South Ayrshire Council’s ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes every Friday. For more information call South Ayrshire Council Life line.

We have creche facilities for babies and toddlers (up to age 2) in one of the rooms at the back of the church. All crèche leaders are members of the PVG Scheme (Disclosure Scotland).
JAM (Jesus and Me) Time meets every Sunday morning and allows children aged 3-12 to meet together and learn more about God through simple Bible teaching. Sessions involve singing, games, prayer, stories, crafts and lots of fun! We encourage the children to bring a collection which we donate to various charities. All JAM time leaders are members of the PVG Scheme (Disclosure Scotland).
Taking communion together is a vital part of our weekly church services. We gather together to remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for us. On the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month, we have a separate 10am Communion Service. This is a prayerful and contemplative time together. It is initially led, as our thoughts are guided towards Jesus and His sacrifice, followed by an opportunity for anyone to share a Bible reading or prayer before we take bread and wine together.
On the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month, communion is celebrated within the Family Service.
At 11am every Sunday we gather together for the Family Service. There is usually a mix of church members, regular attendees and visitors at this service, covering a wide range of ages. Halfway through, children (babies, toddlers, pre-school and primary school aged) leave to go to crèche or JAM Time. Our worship team lead us in praise and Bible based sermons are delivered by our own Pastor, elders, church members or visiting speakers. Communion is taken during the service on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. The Family Service usually runs till 12:15/12.30pm. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the service and we encourage people to stay and catch up with friends and to get to know others in the church. This service is also usually livestreamed to Youtube (Seagate Church)
Small groups are a vital part of life at Seagate Church. These small groups are places where people can form deep friendships, pray and study the Bible together, and encourage one another to grow deeper in their love and knowledge of Jesus Christ. They are also places to find a supportive community who can help in times of need and there might be lots of coffee, cake and laughter too. There are currently 11 groups running over various days, times and venues. Some meet virtually while others meet in person. Further information is available from admin@seagatechurch.org.uk
