I have been the pastor of Seagate Church in Troon since August 2014. I am married to my lovely wife Heather and God has blessed with the gift of two beautiful girls, Lucy who is 8 and Niamh who is 5.

Originally from the beautiful country of Northern Ireland I came to Scotland for university in Dundee – where Heather and I met.

Before becoming pastor of the church I completed the Cornhill Training course part-time while working in Glasgow as a solicitor at the same time.

I am absolutely committed to continuing to grow Seagate Church as a loving, Christ centred, God glorifying community of Christians who have been saved by grace and who passionately desire to share the Good News of the Gospel with the wider community here in Troon.

One of my usual haunts in Troon is Lido (right beside the church) and I am always happy to meet with people for a chat and a coffee anytime.

Please just feel free to call or email me and arrange a time to meet.

I arrived in Scotland to join Seagate on staff as youth worker in March 2016, hailing from the west coast of Canada. I am proudly Canadian, but with a love for the UK. I am a major outdoors enthusiast, really just enjoy simply being outside, but my favorite activities are hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking and surfing. I am also a musician, enjoy watching films, and have a deep love for coffee.

I grew up in a family who became believers through my mum’s decision to enroll me in a Christian pre-school and have been a part of Church my whole life since. I started to help with youth ministry since I was 17, a youth myself, and have not stopped. After high school I attended a discipleship center on Vancouver Island for four years working towards a Ministry Diploma, gaining intensive discipleship and hands on experience in ministry. Part of our schooling was involvement in planting a church, which I have been a part of for five years, leading up to God bringing me to Scotland. Initially my Bible College experience was intended to be a year to get to know God better and work on myself. But through that time, while I did get to know God in a much deeper way and see myself transform, I have recognized God leading me to ministry.

I am confident of God’s calling to bring me here to partner with Seagate for this new season, and I am excited to see what God will do, as we follow his next steps for us as a Church together. My prayer is that Seagate’s Youth Fellowship would be a caring community, committed to following Jesus, growing spiritually, loving each other, and passionate in sharing with those who have not yet been found.

This is the second term as an Elder at Seagate, my prayer is that God uses us to enable the church to become a relevant and significant place where people can find hope in Christ.

I’m married to Jenny, who has stuck with me since school days. We have four great children, Calum 13, Laurie and Bryony 11 (yes they are twins) and Angus 7.

I’m from Kirriemuir, and in 1989 I left to go to Eastern Europe for a year to work with Operation Mobilisation. This was a life changing year for me as I saw God work through ordinary young people to bring hope to the hopeless and freedom to captives.

I studied theology at Glasgow Bible college for 4 years and was heavily involved in the Navigator student ministry in Glasgow as well as playing football in the Churches league (badly !).

After bible college I became the Youth worker at Seagate and the Meadowgreen foundation as a Youth Worker. I worked for Seagate and the Meadowgreen foundation for four years, this was a great time as we had a great group of young people and volunteers who were all journeying in their growth in Christ.

I now work for North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership as a Senior Manager and coach Calum’s football team as well as doing a little CBT therapy on the side.

I greatly desire that the church and its people become a place of healing, freedom, comfort and hope for those who are lost.

I have been an Elder in Seagate for the last 3 years
I am married to Karen and we have two boys

I am originally from Kilmarnock – after leaving school I began a career in finance and currently work in Social Media

I became a Christian at primary school and this remains the best life decision that I have ever made

I want people to come to Church, to find true friends and ultimately find God through Jesus – understanding that he has a plan for every man, woman and child!

We have a great down to earth pastor in Richard. Why not meet him for a coffee and a chat.

I am an Ayrshire man born and bred, married to Jean with two children, Alison and Stuart.

I have been a member of Seagate for around forty years and an elder since 1986 with a four year gap from 2010 to 2014. I am also a trustee of the church.

I spent 40 years in the water industry as a chartered Civil Engineer, the last ten with the Customer Service Regulator for Water in Scotland. Since retiring I have tried to stay connected to the local community and am currently Chair of the Board of Directors of The Hansel Foundation, a charity providing support for over 700 people with disabilities across Ayrshire. A keen golfer, I have also been secretary and treasurer of Troon Merchants Golf Club for the past eight years.

I had the privilege of linking my love of golf with my Christian faith, through my involvement as a founding Director of Junior Golf Plus, a Troon Churches Together sponsored Christian charity which reached over 500 children during the Open Golf Championship in Troon in 2004 and has continued to connect with youngsters in Troon intermittently since that time.

Over the past four years one of my passions has been Tuesdays at Ten, A Seagate project which offers Christian conversation, recreation and stimulation to the over fifties.
