Crèche in the Cabin

This warm, inviting environment is open during both Sunday morning services, catering for children aged 0-8 years (10am-11am) and 0-3years (11:50am-12:30pm). You are encouraged to leave your children in a safe, supervised area, giving you the opportunity to attend the main services. There is a range of colourful toys, games, craft materials and other activities for your children to enjoy and a snack is also provided. Leaders may discuss simple Bible themes through the use of DVDs, music and books.

The room is also equipped with a travel cot and changing area…with a few spare nappies, just in case!

Children need to be signed in and out of crèche by a parent or guardian.

So that children can enjoy church in a way that is best suited to them, after around 20min together in the 11:30am Family Service the children go to their own activities – crèche or JAM Time.

JAM Time

This is a fun-filled, supervised programme with a mixture of games, music, quizzes and activities for your children to enjoy. Children meet in their different age groups for part of the session and learn about friendship with Jesus through a variety of methods, including bible stories, prayer, praise, crafts, puppetry and drama. This is a great opportunity for them to make friends their own age and for our team of leaders to get to know them better.

The JAM Time leaders want to encourage each youngster to learn how to make good choices for their lives and develop in their understanding of the Christian faith.

A offering is taken during JAM Time. This money to given to various charities and good causes which are nominated by the children.

Several special events are organised during the year, such as outings to the local swimming pool and parks, parties, and holiday clubs.

All children join the adults for the first 20-30 minutes of the Family Service, before leaving to go to their separate age-appropriate activities. JAM Time caters for all primary school children, while Junior JAM Time is for pre-school children and is held in the Cabin at the same time.

School Lunchtime Groups

David, Callum, Daniel and Lindsay come into the primary schools of Troon to reap havoc at lunchtimes with messy games, sweets, dramas, songs, crazy dances – the works. As well as having fun there are important, deep, moral and philosophical messages which they try to get across, mostly involving funky chickens, sweets and Callum dressing up in silly clothing. To watch a video about these groups view our YouTube Channel.

Pray For Schools

Prayer makes a difference! We have a group of church members, and other dedicated friends, who meet fortnightly to pray for the local schools and all the school-aged children and young people, as well as teachers and staff members who are associated with the church. This is under the auspices of Scripture Union, Scotland.

They pray for each person by name, and give special support to young people who are sitting exams. Prayer requests are often made and any specific prayer requests are always welcome. They are delighted to pray for any particular problems that may arise or to celebrate with you any significant achievements.

There is also an annual Prayer Day organised by the Schools Prayer Network to which Troon’s school teachers, church leaders, Scripture Union leaders, parents and children are invited.
